Measure Tool: Measure a Distance on Your Map

 

Step 1.) Activate Measure Tool: 
Click on the Measure Tool button represented by the Ruler Icon in your Map Tools Bar.

Step 2.) Click on the Map to Begin your Measurement: 
Click the starting area where you would like to measure within the Map View. A white dot will appear at your starting selection.

ArborPro Tip: You can select “Show Crosshair” for better point accuracy. Otherwise, simply click the starting area of where you’d like to measure. A white dot will appear at your starting selection.  

 

Step 3.) Click on the Map to Complete Your End Measurement: 
Click the end area of where you are measuring to apply a second white dot within the Map View. A red line will connect your two dots and display your distance number.

ArborPro Tip: You can continue to add multiple 2-point measurements. To remove a measurement, you can double-click either white dot. To remove all active measurements, click the “Reset” button in your Measure Tool Dialogue Box. 

ArborPro Tip: If you would like to change the default length unit from ft., click on the Preferences Button represented by the gear icon in your Data Analysis Toolbar located on the left-hand side of your screen. A Preferences menu will appear, click Map Options. Here you will find the option to change your length units. Select your unit preference from the Length Units dropdown. Your selected settings will save automatically and you can close out of the Preferences Pane. (NOTE: Link to Preferences Pane)

 

Arborist Tip: Please remember that if you do make an error and need your data recovered, please reach out to Help@AborProUSA.com ASAP with the number of points, the user, the date, and time the points were deleted.
